I chose this place because it’s conveniently 5 minutes from my workplace, and to be fair, they did a good job on my panel repair. Now, onto the bonus experience: the courtesy car key. They gave me a courtesy car that’s clearly lived a long, meaningful life. Last Friday, I did something truly outrageous, I turned the key normally and the key snapped. Not “bent a little.” Not “felt loose.” Fully broke. The centre stayed attached, but both sides cracked like it was made of biscuits. I brought it back on Monday and explained what happened. They gave me a spare car key, and I was told, “Oh, you must be so strong.” Yes, absolutely. I’ve been secretly training for years to defeat ancient car keys with my bare hands. No one mentioned any cost then. But today, when I went to pick up my car, I was charged $93.84 for the key. I suggested a fair compromise (like splitting it), since this didn’t exactly feel like “customer damages a perfectly healthy key,” but more like “key was already on life support.” The response? “That was a brand new key we got last month.” Interesting. Because if a “brand new” key can break from a normal twist, then either it wasn’t brand new… or it’s the most delicate key ever produced. So, if you use their courtesy cars, please handle the key like it’s a rare antique. Gentle touch. Soft prayers. Maybe wear gloves. Good luck.
