A Tire Fitting Horror Story! Avoid at all costs! Read if you value your wheels!! I called ahead to confirm pricing and availability to swap tyres from old rims onto brand-new rims (rims already off the car). I was quoted $20 per tyre and told to be there at 9am. On arrival, the manager immediately tried to change the price to $35 per tyre. After arguing back and forth, he reluctantly agreed to honour the original quote. Before work even started, another staff member warned me to take photos of my rims before and after because the tyre fitters aren’t careful. That alone should’ve been a red flag. Sure enough, every one of my 2-day-old, brand new rims came back damaged - scratched paint on the lips and faces, with gouges on two wheels. Despite this, I paid and left, planning to fix the damage myself. Once home, I realised no wheel balancing had been done (no weights fitted). Driving over 90km/h caused violent shaking. I returned immediately. At the business the manager then claimed “we don’t do balancing, you only asked for fitment”. Any competent shop knows tyre fitting without balancing is unacceptable and unsafe. He completely dismissed the rim damage, then actually scraped off fresh touch-up paint with his finger and blamed me for the damage stating that the paint was still wet. I had to explain to him that I touched up the paint before coming back. He then took a phone call mid-conversation and ignored me entirely. Only after I said I’d be leaving a bad review did his attitude change. He begrudgingly agreed to balance the wheels. I removed and refitted the wheels myself because I no longer trusted their staff. Afterwards, he asked me “You happy now? You give good review?” - while still refusing to take responsibility for damaging my rims. His only “solution” was that I repaint them myself or bring paint so they could spray them in a dirty wrecking yard. No compensation. No accountability. No respect. Unprofessional, careless, dismissive, and dishonest. If you value your wheels or your car, take them somewhere else Pictures were taken before and after of some of the rims.
