had an issue with my car on a Sunday afternoon and was really stuck, especially being from out of the area. Even though he mentioned he was already quite busy, he still took the time to help me out and made sure I was sorted. I honestly really appreciated the willingness to go the extra mile when he didn’t have to. Great service, kind, and genuinely helpful. Would highly recommend!

Our SUV was red lighted with battery issue when crossing Tauranga on our way back to Wellington on Waitangi Day, only Taran's store opened on that public holiday after google. So I just wanted to try, honestly didn't trust it can be fixed since his store looks a small one. But his capability really changed my mind!! He only used testing and re-figuring the system, which is the most appropriate solution of time and cost saving. And also ensuring us to drive back to Wellington. I'm surprised by his technical skill and service. I Strongly recommend Taran! Auto Surgeon!

Diving to Tauranga from Auckland over the labour weekend in stop start Traffic, our car overheated and burst a pipe. No mechanics were open over the long weekend apart from Auto surgeon. Tarrun checked our car and advised of the steps he would take to diagnose the faults. His communication was clear & responsive. He fixed our car beyond expectation. He was very thorough and experienced. Initially i was concerned as i have a old Peugeot and my preference was to get Peugeot to look at it, as i am an enthusiast with repairs and maintenance. Tarrun repaired my car to a better state than it was before the fault. Thank you very much, we are so grateful for the great advice, quality of your work & managing our schedule. We highly recommend your work.

Excellent service — highly recommended. Taran is a genuinely kind and honest professional. When my car failed its WOF, he went above and beyond to source the right replacement parts so it could pass. He even took me on a test drive afterward to make sure I was comfortable with how the new brakes felt. I’d confidently recommend AutoSurgeon to anyone looking for a reliable workshop. I especially appreciated Taran’s communication: quick replies to my messages and regular updates on the progress. Five stars!

I wouldn’t recommend this place. I visited to have my car checked to confirm the ignition coil was fitted correctly after experiencing an issue on Christmas Day, which I had to fix myself on Boxing Day. As I was travelling from Tauranga to Auckland, I wanted a professional to quickly verify the installation to avoid any unexpected problems during the trip. The mechanic refused to inspect the vehicle and repeatedly stated that if the car was running, it would be fine. Despite several polite requests, he declined to assist and eventually said he didn’t have time. I was disappointed by the lack of customer service and professionalism.
