Whilst I cant fault the work or communication - these guys are pricey. I had my VW T5 serviced here and it set me back $950. Looking at previous services, none of them were over $500. The only discernible difference this time was a $50 filter. I also asked them to quote on fixing a park brake which failed on a WOF inspection. Their quote just $1300. I eventually got it fixed for $365 at another garage.

Had the regulator replaced in the drivers side rear window 2 months ago for $400 which I thought was fair and reasonable price. Today I talked them down to $500 for the exact same job on the passenger side. Poor communications from both ends I had no need for my car and thought they’d be happy holding onto it until the job was done. They thought they’d do extra work on it without calling me on the Friday so I could pick it up. I also got called away from Blenheim unexpectedly on the Friday and was out of service Saturday-Wednesday but had wifi for emails. By the time I got the quote I was shocked at the $575 bill. Thankfully we were able to come to a compromise where both parties walked away semi disgruntled. Unless desperate I will try look for a new regular as I have spent 2k here this year and will hope to find someplace else that doesn’t charge $15 overnight fees for holding vehicles.

Ooops...popped in for a non urgent repair. Total lack of communication. Clear description at desk for mechanic to head to different part of vehicle. Quick repair turned into parts replacement which was not their doing but not phoning me was. Headed back in time slot to find mechanic had gone searching for parts in town as if an older vehicle parts are just sitting on a shelf... should've let fingers/ mouse do the walking. Short term temporary fix....no time allocation or cost verses just put it back to get me through next week. So quickest/ cheapest option returned to as it was. No....went in with not working but holding to (ferry ramp and judder bars) not even holding. Home mechanic booked in 10 days so vehicle drivable but not usable. Poorly done. Update: I have been able to secure window shut (which is what I needed) when I got home so able to use vehicle. With a non urgent walk in would have accepted and respected being turned away.

What an amazing experience. Power steering belt popped off our house bus right at the beginning of a big South Island vacation. It was a relatively easy fix, but I didn't have the right tools. Every shop in Blenheim was either closed for New Years or booked out for weeks. I called up Beat Shop, and the owner told me to come right on over. He spent 30 minutes installing the new belt, shared some yarns about life, then sent us on our way free of charge. Could have easily charged us a good penny for the quick need, but just told us to pass the favor forward :) Everyone I interacted with was friendly and helpful. It's the kind of business I'd love to go back to.

Great job from these guys replacing my starter motor in my e92 n52 bmw.sourced the parts overnight and installed in less than 2 hours.everyone I talked to was very knowledgeable and friendly, thanks to Madison for getting me the right part. Recommended to all especially for European cars.:Update:November 2023;replaced radiator,car running without a hitch,more great work,super happy.thanks again team!
