Pit Stop Nelson

We arrived at Pit Stop completely stressed; Our van, our little Pumpkin, had broken down with an engine overheating issue on a Sunday, when every garage was closed. On Monday, we contacted the garage recommended by our insurance, but due to availability they referred us to Pit Stop and they truly became our lifesavers. Unfortunately for us, it turned out to be a major repair: a cylinder head issue, which also required replacing the radiator. Everything was explained to us clearly and professionally, using models and photos to help us fully understand the problem and the work required. As backpackers, that transparency meant a lot to us. They kept us updated throughout the entire process. We had to leave Pumpkin with them from Monday to Thursday while some parts were being delivered from Auckland. Despite that, they actually finished earlier than expected, instead of late Thursday afternoon, we were able to pick up our van at 10am! We are incredibly grateful for their professionalism, honesty, and efficiency. When you’re travelling, it can be difficult to know who to trust, but with Pit Stop we felt completely reassured from start to finish. We highly recommend them without hesitation!
