I feel like I’ve picked up a brand new van! Excellent service - it’s a first time for me to get any body work done on my van and they absolutely excelled my expectations. Such friendly, easy service and went above and beyond to make sure I had it back in time to be ready for my clients. I’m so grateful for their time and service. They even washed and spruced my van up so it looked amazing at pick up. Tandem Smash Repairs did an absolute excellent job and it’s the only place I will go now knowing just how good they are. Thank you!

My car was sent to this repair shop through State Insurance, and the experience was extremely disappointing. Several items listed on the repair invoice were clearly not carried out. The bumpers were not replaced, only poorly painted, and the scratches have already reappeared. Despite this minimal work, the total bill came to around NZD 5,000, which is completely unjustifiable. To make matters worse, my Bluetooth unit went missing while the car was in their care and was never reimbursed. When I raised this issue, the staff member I spoke to was aggressive, dismissive, and refused any responsibility. I have spoken with my insurance company, paid my excess, and chosen not to pursue this further, but I strongly advise others to be very cautious when dealing with this repair shop. Not recommended at all. Update: The owner’s reply is completely misleading. It is the workshop’s responsibility to take care of customers’ belongings while the vehicle is in their possession. I have photos clearly showing the Bluetooth unit in the car before the repair, yet they refuse to resolve the issue. State Insurance has fulfilled all of their responsibilities and even considered reimbursing the Bluetooth unit, which shows their professionalism. My concern is that this repair shop has not been honest — neither with the insurance company nor with me as the customer. After reviewing the receipts provided by State, I noticed many items listed, bringing the total to around $5,000. However, in reality, the actual work done on the car appears closer to $1,500–$2,000. I would gladly give 5 stars to State Insurance for their support and service — but zero stars to this repair shop.

I have had 2 repairs done in the last 3 months. The team at Tandem have been absolutely wonderful. They have explained everything they are going to do and what is needed. Their premises are immaculate, as are their loan cars. My car was fixed promptly and looks like new now. I highly recommend them.

Absolutely stoked with the service we received from Tandem Smash Repairs. From our first enquiry by phone, we were made to feel welcome. Staff on the front counter were friendly and helpful, and we were thoroughly briefed by the estimator at every juncture. The loan car we received was clean, tidy and a pleasure to drive. The repair was perfect. While we hope we won’t require their services again, if we do, we will have no hesitation in heading back to Tandem. To say we are happy with our repair, and their service, is an understatement. Thanks team!

The customer service up to the standards, and the quality of the work was excellent. The paint job is absolutely immaculate and very professional.
