Very friendly techs here. Gave me options, cheapest ones vs quality ones, i took their advise as it made sense. They also went over and beyond by replacing my wheel caps, which i had bought from another shop and was going to replace it at home. But they saw the box and offered to replace it for me, which shows great customer service and experience. i don't mind spending at a place like this where you get your moneys worth by the experience you get, vs saving a few bucks with a grumpy customer service agent.
I recently had a really bad experience at Tony’s Tyre Service in Gisborne. A day before visiting them, I changed my tyre at home. The next morning my car started making noise, so I went to Tony’s for an inspection. I clearly mentioned that my brake pads weren’t good, and they only checked that — not the tyres. They told me everything was fine to drive, so I left for Auckland.While driving, the noise got much worse, and by the time I reached Ōpōtiki, it was really bad. I went to a local garage there, and they found that my tyre bolts were loose. That’s a serious safety issue — it could have caused a major accident. I called Tony’s Tyre Gisborne to let them know, and the manager was extremely rude. Instead of listening or apologising, he blamed me for changing the tyre at home and even said he’d “take action” if I called again. That’s not how you treat customers.My friends and I (around 5–10 cars between us) have been regular customers there, but after this experience and the way they spoke, none of us will be going back. They’re not the cheapest in town either — other places offer better prices and proper service.I honestly wouldn’t recommend Tony’s Tyre Gisborne to anyone. Poor service, no accountability, and absolutely no customer respect.
