anthony was an INCREDIBLE testing officer when i went for my restricted - the best i have had. he made me feel so confident, so calm and he’s very funny!!! eased my nerves a lot. if you get him you’re a very lucky driver!!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

If the normal workforce could be as lazy as VTNZ nothing would ever get done. So sick of the constant messages about driving tests being moved as the tester is now “unavailable”. Including these being sent the same day as tests are due to take place. It’s good the government is doing away with full drivers tests as it’s just a money making game. There is no good reason for it to exist.

Best VTNZ in the Wellington area that I’ve been to. No long queues & a very comfortable waiting room with TV and free coffee. Joselito is an awesome mechanic & spotted a misdiagnosed non issue that two other VTNZ’s thought was a fault. Many thanks!

I had one of the worst experiences at VTNZ Thorndon during my restricted license test. The testing officer (AM Initials) was extremely rude and dismissive from the start, both to me and my mother. I made a small mistake at the very beginning, briefly entering the bike lane due to the confusing and useless lane layout and unclear instructions. Before I could even correct it or show how I actually drive, he failed me on the spot. I didn’t endanger anyone, and I was already trying to fix my position, but he told me to “keep driving” — it felt like he was just waiting for a reason to fail me. What made it worse was his attitude. Instead of explaining things properly, he was condescending and cold. I also saw that the person before me failed with the same tester, which makes me seriously question how fair and consistent he actually is. I’ve worked hard toward getting my licence and have previously been told by another tester (Santhosh Kumar K) that my driving is confident and safe. This result was not a fair reflection of my ability at all. Ps. Anyone reading this review. Do your test in Lower Hutt, yes it is hard but if you get Santhosh Kumar K you are in luck. He is a chill tester. Shoutout to his hard work. VTNZ should seriously review this examiner’s professionalism. People pay good money for these tests, and we deserve respect, not arrogance. Tell me why he isn't fired yet, he has gotten flamed in multiple reviews. GET HIM OUT OF HERE. HE HAS NO PLACE TO BE RASICT TO INNOCENT PEOPLE IN NEW ZEALAND.

Fast service, free coffee, sky sports and comfy couches. This is the best experience I have ever had when getting a warrant for my car. There was a bit of a wait just because of the number of people, but once we were booked in we were out within 30minutes. Super handy having a place like this so close to town
