Five stars is an underrating for all of the mechanics and auto electricians at Auto Repair Otago. On two occasions at the very end of their business hours I have called (with the intention of paying for their work) and both times they have applied their expertise with unconditional kindness resolving the issues I required help with. Therefor I can’t leave this review as a customer because they haven’t asked for nor accepted payment in exchange for their work. Having only just moved here these guys have given me a sense of community and a lot of faith in the businesses in Dunedin. You would be hard pressed to find a more accommodating, kind and professional team who demonstrate an observable healthy team dynamic and organisational culture you can trust with your vehicle, though I feel indifferent about not paying for their time, their actions demonstrate their honesty and reliability. For anyone this matters to; know that they are LGBTQ+ friendly and from what I seen/overheard are very trustworthy for tourists -I’m not oblivious to the costs associated with the time or most common parts (new/secondhand/reconditioned) with this consideration, I do know that they had also been genuinely kind and honest with the tourists who were present and collecting their vehicle while I was there. Thank you all for helping me out in a pinch also for being as kind and compassionate as you have been. Personally could not appreciate your workshop and employees more than I do. Hopefully I will one day update this review as a ‘paying’ customer, until then, you have made my day/week on both occasions leaving me with a great impression ☺️
